Product Description
Tandem sprocket 08B z=15 for two simplex chains, for Taper-Lock bush 1008, C45 steel, hardened teeth is a sprocket with two toothed rims for two simplex roller chains 08B-1 (DIN 8187 / ISO 606) with a pitch of 12.7 mm (1/2"). Each rim has 15 teeth, and the sprocket is made of C45 steel.
The rims are spaced 23.8 mm apart, so each chain runs on its own rim, independently of the other. The sprocket has a seat for a Taper-Lock 1008 clamping bush, so it can be mounted on the shaft without boring the hole or cutting a keyway in the sprocket - simply choose a 1008 bush with a bore that matches the shaft (up to 25 mm). The bush is not included - the 1008 bush can be purchased separately from our range. The teeth are hardened, so they withstand wear from the chain rollers better.

Applications
It is used on intermediate shafts that receive the drive via one chain and pass it on via the other, as well as in drives that split the torque between two independent consumers.
Frequently asked questions
Which chain does this sprocket fit?
With two simplex roller chains 08B-1 to European standard DIN 8187 / ISO 606, with a pitch of 12.7 mm. Each chain runs on its own toothed rim.
What is the difference between a tandem sprocket and a duplex sprocket?
A tandem sprocket has two rims for two separate simplex chains 08B-1 - each chain runs on its own rim and can drive a different consumer. A duplex sprocket is designed for one duplex chain 08B-2, whose two rows of rollers are connected by common pins. That is why a duplex chain is not fitted on a tandem sprocket - the rims of this sprocket are spaced 23.8 mm apart, while the roller rows of the 08B-2 chain are 13.92 mm apart.
Does it fit ASA 40 chain?
No. ASA 40 chain (American standard) has the same pitch, but a different roller diameter (7.94 mm instead of 8.51 mm) and a different inner width (7.94 mm instead of 7.75 mm). The 08B sprocket is designed for European-standard chain, so the two systems should not be mixed.
How do I choose the bush for this sprocket?
The sprocket has a seat for a Taper-Lock 1008 bush, so you need a bush with the same number. It is chosen with a bore that matches the shaft diameter - a 1008 bush accepts bores up to 25 mm. Before ordering, it is worth measuring the shaft carefully with a caliper in several places.
Can a new chain be fitted on a worn sprocket?
This should not be done. A worn sprocket has a changed tooth profile, so a new chain runs unevenly and elongates quickly. The rule is: new chain - new sprockets.
What does the lead time depend on?
When ordering, please check the current stock level of this sprocket - the lead time depends on it and is clearly stated according to the quantity available in each warehouse. The stock level is shown above the product price and may vary depending on the warehouse.
