A metal top plate withstands heavy, sharp-edged or hot loads that would quickly wear out rubber. The threaded version lets you bolt flights, brackets or plates directly to the chain, without welding or additional supports - fitting and replacing elements is quick. We make the base chains from C45 steel, with components hardened separately before assembly, giving a strength about 20% higher than the standard requires.

On a sprocket with the same designation as the base chain, but not too small. On a sprocket with few teeth, the chain bends at a sharp angle and adjacent top plates start to overlap - check the recommended sprocket size on the product page.
