Accumulation chains

Accumulation chains are roller chains with additional carrier rollers on which the load rests. When a pallet or container is stopped by a stop, the rollers rotate underneath it and the chain keeps moving. Subsequent loads arrive and form a buffer in front of the workstation.

Accumulation chains - the load waits while the line runs without stopping

The line does not have to stop every time one workstation needs more time. The load waits in a queue, the drive runs without interruption, and the operator picks up the next items at their own pace. That means fewer stops, less wear on the motor and clutches, and smoother operation of the whole line. The carrier rollers reduce friction between the load and the chain, so the bottoms of pallets and containers do not wear. We make the base chains from C45 steel, with components hardened separately before assembly.
