Hollow pin chains

Hollow pin chains (designation HP) are roller chains in which the pins are bored right through. A rod, bolt or pin is inserted into the hole to fix slats, flights or cross rods.

Hollow pin chains - repositioning elements without breaking the chain

You fix conveyor elements exactly where they are needed and can reposition them at any time - without breaking the chain and without special attachment links. Rebuilding the line or changing the flight spacing therefore takes less time. Stainless versions perform well in the food industry, dryers and washdown areas. We make the standard versions from C45 steel, with components hardened separately before assembly.

Strength of a hollow pin chain - customer questions

Is a hollow pin chain as strong as a standard one?

No. A hollow pin has a smaller cross-section, so an HP chain carries lower loads than a standard chain of the same pitch. It is suited to conveyors, not to heavily loaded drives.
