Straight side plate roller chains (GL)

Straight side plate chains (designation GL) are roller chains whose plates have straight edges instead of the typical figure-of-eight profile. The upper edges form an even carrying surface, and the lower edges let the chain slide on a guide.

GL straight side plate chains - the load rests directly on the chain

You carry crates, panels and parts directly on the chain, without additional slats or top plates - the conveyor is simpler and cheaper to build. The flat plate edge rests evenly on the guide, so the chain runs stably. You don't need special sprockets either. We make the standard versions from C45 steel, with components hardened separately before assembly - the strength is about 20% higher than the standard requires.

B-series, heavy-duty A-series and stainless GL roller chains

B-series straight side plate chains, simplex and multiplex, also with plates of different heights, as well as a heavy-duty A-series version, a stainless hollow pin chain and an attachment chain. Selected chains are sold on reels.

Does a straight side plate chain fit an ordinary sprocket?

Yes. The pitch, roller and inner width are the same as in a standard chain, so an 08B-1 GL chain runs on an 08B-1 sprocket.
