Pin chains

Pin chains are chains in which the plates are mounted directly on the pins, without bushes or rollers. The best-known example is the Gall chain.

Pin chains - high forces at low speeds and reciprocating motion

The simple design means the chain copes well with high forces at low speeds. It performs well in slow-running drives, lifting equipment and mechanisms where the chain moves back and forth rather than rotating continuously.

Pin chains selected according to documentation or dimensions

Pin chains selected according to the designation in the equipment documentation or the dimensions of the old chain. Leaf chains for forklift masts can be found in the Leaf chains group.

Questions and answers: pin chain vs roller chain

What is the difference between a pin chain and a roller chain?

A roller chain has a bush and a rotating roller on the pin, which reduce friction against the sprocket tooth. A pin chain does not have these parts, so it runs more slowly but has a simpler design.
