Technical link chains

Link chains are made of oval links formed from bar and welded into a single strand. They have no pins or rollers, so they can work in any plane and cope well with dirt. They are used in hoists, conveyors, safety applications and as general-purpose technical chains.

Technical link chains - simple design and resistance to harsh conditions

A simple design means an affordable price and resistance to conditions in which a roller chain would quickly seize. You choose the finish to suit the place of use: galvanised chains perform well outdoors, and stainless ones in constant moisture and corrosive environments. Calibrated chains, with tight dimensional tolerances, work with hoist chain wheels.

Short-link chains to DIN 766, technical chains to DIN 5685A, chains in various strength grades, calibrated and G80 chains, and connecting links. Some chains have a black finish. The size is given as the bar diameter and link pitch, e.g. 6x18.5 mm.

Is a link chain suitable for lifting loads?

Only chains intended for slings, e.g. grade G80, are used for lifting. Galvanised chains to DIN 766 and DIN 5685A are technical chains, not slings.
