Product Description
Three metres of 12A-1 chain is a ready working section for drives with a larger centre distance - with no need to join two shorter pieces and no risk of failure at intermediate connecting links. The Ozdowski 12A roller chain in this format is used in the drives of manure spreaders, forage harvester turbines, bucket elevators, cultivation units and construction and municipal machinery.
What should the 12A roller chain be lubricated with and how often?
A chain running without lubricant heats up in the joints and the pins oxidise - rust appears between the inner and outer plates, and wear accelerates rapidly. For chains operating under normal temperature conditions, use good-quality mineral oil (never used oil). Manual lubrication with an oiler or brush works well at speeds up to approx. 180 m/min. At higher speeds, use an oil bath or pressure lubrication. Apply the oil to the inner side of the chain - where it enters the sprocket - so that gravity helps it penetrate the joints rather than carrying it away.

Typical applications - 3 m section
- Manure and compost spreader drives
- Forage harvester turbines and side drives
- Bucket elevators and screw conveyors
- Cultivation units and rotary tillers
- Municipal machinery (sweepers, flail mowers)
- Woodworking equipment (frame saws, wood chippers)
Every 3 months: check the tension and change the oil. Every 6 months: assess wear of the side plates, measure chain elongation and inspect the condition of the sprockets. 3 m section (approx. 158 links, weight approx. 4.50 kg) - also check that you have the right connecting link to close the chain.
