Roller chain 48B-2 (duplex, pitch 76.2 mm) is a drive component used where durability and dimensional repeatability matter. Pins, rollers and plates are hardened separately before assembly - as a Polish manufacturer we treat this as standard, which means the chain retains its original dimensions for a long time and does not "stretch" under load. The Ozdowski brand hardens pins, rollers and plates individually, before the links are assembled into a complete chain - as a result, our chains are approx. 20% stronger than the standard requires and therefore more durable and robust when working under load.

How do I choose the right roller chain for an industrial drive?

The key is to determine three parameters: pitch, inner width and roller diameter - for 48B these are 76.2 mm, 45.72 mm and 48.26 mm respectively. In addition, operating conditions should be taken into account: load, rotational speed and environment (dust, moisture), in order to select the right version.

What is a duplex chain and when is it used?

A duplex chain is a design consisting of two parallel rows of links connected by common pins. It is used where the space for sprockets is limited (a wider sprocket with a larger pitch cannot be used) and the drive must transmit a higher torque than in the simplex version.

What are the benefits of using a professional roller chain breaker?

A dedicated chain breaker allows the pin to be pushed out axially and in a controlled manner, without deforming the side plates of the link - which is particularly important with precisely hardened components.

What should roller chains operating at high temperatures be lubricated with?

Standard grease will quickly run off or carbonise at high temperature. In such conditions, dedicated synthetic oils with added graphite or molybdenum disulphide (MoS2) perform better.
