Chain 24B-1 is a simplex roller chain compliant with the European dimensional standard, with a pitch of 38.1 mm. Compliance with standard DIN 8187 / ISO 606 guarantees correct interaction with sprockets from other manufacturers; as a Polish manufacturer, we also focus on separate hardening of every link component. Thanks to hardening each component separately, even before the whole chain is assembled, Ozdowski products achieve a breaking strength about 20% higher than the minimum values specified by the standard.

How do I choose the right roller chain for an industrial drive?

The key is to determine three parameters: pitch, inner width and roller diameter - for 24B these are 38.1 mm, 25.4 mm and 25.4 mm respectively. In addition, operating conditions should be taken into account: load, rotational speed and environment (dust, moisture), in order to select the right version.

What should roller chains operating at high temperatures be lubricated with?

Standard grease will quickly run off or carbonise at high temperature. In such conditions, dedicated synthetic oils with added graphite or molybdenum disulphide (MoS2) perform better.

Does fitting a chain connecting link require special tools?

No - good pliers or flat-nose pliers are sufficient. Fitting the connecting link directly on the machine is sometimes easier with a tensioner, which allows both free ends of the chain to be held steadily.

Why is it not advisable to break a chain with a hammer and punch?

Hammer blows generate uncontrolled forces that can damage the fit of the pin in the plate of the adjacent link, and a ricocheting punch can be dangerous and may damage the roller surface.

Where is this product used?

This chain is used in industrial machine transmissions, hoists and lifts, conveyor drives and agricultural machinery - wherever repeatable performance under load matters.
