Product Description

Roller chain 16B-4

The 16B-4 chain is a quadruplex roller chain compliant with the European dimensional standard, with a pitch of 25.4 mm. Pins, rollers and plates are hardened separately before assembly - as a Polish manufacturer we treat this as standard, which means the chain retains its original dimensions for a long time and does not "stretch" under load. Ozdowski brand chains offer strength up to 20% higher than the standard requires - each component (pin, roller, plate) is hardened individually before the chain is assembled, which translates into greater durability and resistance to elongation.

Frequently asked questions

How do I choose the right roller chain for an industrial drive?

The key is to determine three parameters: pitch, inner width and roller diameter - for 16B these are 25.4 mm, 17.02 mm and 15.88 mm respectively. In addition, operating conditions should be taken into account: load, rotational speed and environment (dust, moisture), in order to select the right version.

What is a quadruplex chain and when is it used?

A quadruplex chain is a design consisting of four parallel strands of links connected by common pins. It is used where the space for sprockets is limited (a wider sprocket with a larger pitch cannot be used) and the drive must transmit a higher torque than in the simplex version.

How often should chain tension in a drive be checked?

The first tension check should be carried out after the first 50 operating hours (running-in period), and then regularly - once a month or in line with the machine's inspection schedule.

Why is it not advisable to break a chain with a hammer and punch?

Hammer blows generate uncontrolled forces that can damage the fit of the pin in the plate of the adjacent link, and a ricocheting punch can be dangerous and may damage the roller surface.

Where is this product used?

The chain is suitable for drives in the processing and food industries, in sorting facilities and warehouses (pallet and roller conveyors), and also as a replacement part in existing chain drives of the same pitch.
