Product Description
Roller chain 16B-1 with straight plate H=21 (50 m)
Roller chain 16B-1 ensures reliable torque transmission in industrial drives - pitch 25.4 mm, simplex version. As a European manufacturer, we ensure a precise fit of the pin in the bush, which limits the development of play and extends chain service life. A flat, non-profiled plate provides a continuous top surface - ideal for moving goods or pallets directly on the chain. The Ozdowski brand hardens pins, rollers and plates individually, before the links are assembled into a complete chain - as a result, our chains are approx. 20% stronger than the standard requires and therefore more durable and robust when working under load.

Frequently asked questions
How do I choose the right roller chain for an industrial drive?
The key is to determine three parameters: pitch, inner width and roller diameter - for 16B these are 25.4 mm, 17.02 mm and 15.88 mm respectively. In addition, operating conditions should be taken into account: load, rotational speed and environment (dust, moisture), in order to select the right version.
How does a straight plate chain differ from a standard chain and when is it worth choosing?
In the straight plate version (GL), the outer link plate is straight and flat, rather than profiled (waisted, figure-of-eight shaped) as in the standard version. As a result, the top surface of the chain is continuous and smooth, which allows goods to be moved directly on it or pallets to rest on it - without the risk of catching on the plate recesses, as in the standard version. This version also has increased fatigue strength (larger material cross-section in the link), albeit with a higher dead weight - which is why it is used in conveyors, feeders and transport lines at low and medium speeds, not in high-speed mechanical drives. The pitch, inner width and roller diameter are identical to those of the standard version of the same pitch, so the chain works with standard sprockets.
How often should chain tension in a drive be checked?
The first tension check should be carried out after the first 50 operating hours (running-in period), and then regularly - once a month or in line with the machine's inspection schedule.
When should an offset link (half link) be used in a chain drive?
An offset link is used only when the chain length requires an odd number of links. Bear in mind that fitting an offset link slightly weakens the chain, so it is better to choose a length that avoids it.
Where is this product used?
A straight plate chain is used in conveyors, feeders and transport lines where goods or pallets can be moved directly on the flat top surface of the chain - without the risk of catching, as with a profiled standard plate. Due to its higher dead weight, it performs best at low and medium conveying speeds, not in high-speed mechanical drives.
