Product Description
Roller chain 16B-1 stainless
Stainless chain 16B-1 is a simplex chain with a pitch of 25.4 mm, used where standard carbon steel would corrode. The pin, roller and plate are hardened separately before the link is assembled - as a Polish manufacturer, we apply the same principle to the stainless version too, for uniform hardness of the components. Ozdowski chains withstand loads approx. 20% higher than the standard minimum - this is the result of individual hardening of each component (pin, roller, plate) before the chain is assembled.

Frequently asked questions
How do I select a stainless 16B chain for a drive or conveyor?
Three parameters are key: pitch, inner width and roller diameter - for 16B they are 25.4 mm, 17.02 mm and 15.88 mm respectively. In addition, in a corrosive environment it is worth assessing whether standard stainless steel is sufficient or whether the acid-resistant 316L version is needed.
What grade of steel is the stainless chain in this version made of?
The standard stainless version is made of chromium-nickel steel (type 304) containing approx. 18% chromium and 8-10% nickel. It performs well in humid conditions and in the food and pharmaceutical industries, where carbon steel would corrode.
Does a chain with extended (double) pitch fit standard sprockets?
No - it requires a sprocket designed for double pitch (every second tooth engaged). It must not be confused or interchanged with a standard-pitch chain of the same base designation.
How often should chain tension be checked in a transmission or conveyor?
The first check should be carried out after approx. 50 hours of operation (running-in period), and then regularly - usually once a month or according to the inspection schedule of the machine.
Where is this product used?
Used on conveyors and in packaging machines in food and pharmaceutical plants, as well as in rooms with high humidity where ease of cleaning is required.
