Product Description
Roller chain 16B-1 for curved running
Chain 16B-1 (simplex) is a proven solution for power transmission in mechanical systems, made with a pitch of 25.4 mm. Pins, rollers and plates are hardened separately before assembly - as a European manufacturer, we treat this as standard, so the chain retains its original dimensions for a long time and does not "stretch" under load. In Ozdowski chains, each component is hardened separately before being assembled into a finished link - which is why their actual strength exceeds the requirements of the standard by about 20%, meaning greater durability and resistance to breaking.

Frequently asked questions
How do I choose the right roller chain for an industrial drive?
The key is to determine three parameters: pitch, inner width and roller diameter - for 16B these are 25.4 mm, 17.02 mm and 15.88 mm respectively. In addition, operating conditions should be taken into account: load, rotational speed and environment (dust, moisture), in order to select the right version.
How does the SB (side-bow) chain differ from the standard version of the same pitch?
In the SB chain the pins are made at a special angle, and the clearance obtained in this way allows the chain to be bent to the radius R appropriate for the given pitch. This solution allows a conveyor to negotiate a bend in its route using one common drive, without installing two separate drives at the curve - used e.g. in the bakery industry. Please confirm the exact value of radius R for this pitch with our sales department.
How often should chain tension in a drive be checked?
The first tension check should be carried out after the first 50 operating hours (running-in period), and then regularly - once a month or in line with the machine's inspection schedule.
What are the benefits of using a professional roller chain breaker?
A dedicated chain breaker allows the pin to be pushed out axially and in a controlled manner, without deforming the side plates of the link - which is particularly important with precisely hardened components.
Where is this product used?
The side-bow chain is used in conveyors that must negotiate a bend in their route using one common drive - without the need to install two separate drives at the curve. Typical applications are transport lines in the bakery industry and other conveyors with a curved section of route.
