Product Description
Roller chain 12B-1 stainless
The stainless roller chain 12B-1 is a simplex chain with a pitch of 19.05 mm, made of corrosion-resistant steel. Manufactured in accordance with the standard DIN 8187 / ISO 606; as a European manufacturer, we guarantee dimensional compatibility with sprockets of the same standard, regardless of the material. The Ozdowski brand hardens pins, rollers and plates individually, before the links are assembled into a complete chain - as a result, our chains are approx. 20% stronger than the standard requires and therefore more durable and robust when working under load.

Frequently asked questions
How do I select a stainless 12B chain for a drive or conveyor?
Three parameters are key: pitch, inner width and roller diameter - for 12B they are 19.05 mm, 11.68 mm and 12.07 mm respectively. In addition, in a corrosive environment it is worth assessing whether standard stainless steel is sufficient or whether the acid-resistant 316L version is needed.
What grade of steel is the stainless chain in this version made of?
The standard stainless version is made of chromium-nickel steel (type 304) containing approx. 18% chromium and 8-10% nickel. It performs well in humid conditions and in the food and pharmaceutical industries, where carbon steel would corrode.
Is an extended-pitch chain suitable for high-speed mechanical drives?
This is not its typical application - it works best in low- and medium-speed conveyors and transport lines, rather than in high-speed power transmissions, where standard-pitch chains are used.
What operating temperature can a stainless chain withstand?
Depending on lubrication and design, stainless chains can operate in dryers and ovens at temperatures of up to 400°C - far more than a typical carbon steel chain with standard grease.
Where is this product used?
Used on conveyors and in packaging machines in food and pharmaceutical plants, as well as in rooms with high humidity where ease of cleaning is required.
