Product Description
The 12A-2 chain is a duplex replacement for drives built to the American inch system - designation ANSI 60, pitch 19.05 mm. The pin, roller and plate are hardened separately before the link is assembled - the approach on which we, as a European manufacturer, build the durability of the entire American series. Ozdowski hardens each chain component individually before final assembly - thanks to this, our chains are more durable and stronger, with a strength reserve reaching approx. 20% above the requirements of the standard.

Frequently asked questions
Which chain has a pitch of 19.05 mm, a roller of 11.91 mm and an inner width of 12.57 mm?
It is the 12A-2 roller chain according to DIN 8188 / ISO 606 (ANSI B29.1), double-strand (duplex). If the measured chain has these dimensions, the matching product in the Ozdowski range is: roller chain 12A-2 (ANSI 60-2), pitch 19.05 mm (3/4"), C45 steel. The pitch is measured as the distance between the axes of adjacent pins.
How do you choose the correct ANSI roller chain pitch for a drive?
Three parameters determine the correct selection: pitch, inner width and roller diameter - for 12A (ANSI 60) they are 19.05 mm, 12.57 mm and 11.91 mm respectively. It is also worth considering the load, rotational speed and operating environment (dust, moisture) in order to choose the right version.
What is the purpose of the duplex design in a roller chain?
A duplex chain consists of two parallel rows of links mounted on common pins. This design is chosen when the installation space does not allow a sprocket with a larger pitch and the drive has to transmit a higher torque than the simplex version.
How do you select a connecting link for an existing chain?
The connecting link (clip) must have the same pitch and number of strands as the chain, and should ideally come from the same manufacturer - differences in manufacturing tolerances between manufacturers can affect how the joint performs.
Does a roller chain really "stretch" during operation?
Not in the sense of the metal stretching - it is increasing play caused by wear of the pins and working bushes. Regular lubrication and precise fitting of the components significantly limit this phenomenon.
What does the lead time depend on?
When ordering, please check the current stock level of this chain - the lead time depends on it and is clearly stated according to the quantity available in each warehouse. The stock level is shown above the product price and may vary depending on the warehouse.
