Product Description
Roller chain 10A-1 (50-1)
Roller chain 10A-1 (ANSI chain number 50) is a simplex chain in the inch pitch system, with a pitch of 15.875 mm. The pin, roller and plate are hardened separately before the link is assembled - this is the approach on which we, as a Polish manufacturer, build the durability of the entire American series. The Ozdowski brand hardens pins, rollers and plates individually, before the links are assembled into a complete chain - as a result, our chains are approx. 20% stronger than the standard requires and therefore more durable and robust when working under load.

Frequently asked questions
How do you choose the correct ANSI roller chain pitch for a drive?
Three parameters determine the correct selection: pitch, inner width and roller diameter - for 10A (ANSI 50) they are 15.875 mm, 9.4 mm and 10.16 mm respectively. It is also worth considering the load, rotational speed and operating environment (dust, moisture) in order to choose the right version.
What are the most common practical causes of chain breakage on a machine?
Far more often it is an operating error than a material defect: running without lubrication, worn sprockets or overloading the drive beyond the parameters the chain was designed for.
Why is it better to use a chain breaker rather than a hammer to separate a chain?
A chain breaker pushes the pin out axially and in a controlled manner, without the risk of deforming the side plates. Hammer blows generate uncontrolled forces that can damage the pin fit in the adjacent link.
Why is correct chain tension so important for its service life?
A chain that is too slack starts to vibrate (whipping), causing the rollers to strike the sprocket teeth. Excessive tension, on the other hand, overloads the shaft bearings and accelerates pin wear - in both cases the service life of the drive is reduced.
Where is this product used?
Used, among other things, in balers - in the pick-up and bale ejector drives - and in maize harvesters, where reliable power transmission under medium loads is required.
