Product Description
Roller chain 08B-1 nickel-plated
Chain 08B-1 (simplex) is a proven solution for power transmission in mechanical systems, made with a pitch of 12.7 mm. Manufactured in accordance with DIN 8187 / ISO 606; as a Polish manufacturer, we guarantee full dimensional compatibility with sprockets made to the same standard. The Ozdowski brand hardens pins, rollers and plates individually, before the links are assembled into a complete chain - as a result, our chains are approx. 20% stronger than the standard requires and therefore more durable and robust when working under load.

Frequently asked questions
How do I choose the right roller chain for an industrial drive?
The key is to determine three parameters: pitch, inner width and roller diameter - for 08B these are 12.7 mm, 7.75 mm and 8.51 mm respectively. In addition, operating conditions should be taken into account: load, rotational speed and environment (dust, moisture), in order to select the right version.
How does a nickel-plated chain differ from a standard one?
The passivated nickel coating replaces zinc plating - it is more visually appealing, has a characteristic yellowish-gold tint and allows a thicker coating than zinc plating, without changing the dimensions or strength of the chain compared with the standard version.
Which roller chain should be chosen for operation in very dusty conditions?
In conditions of heavy dust and sand contamination, standard chains quickly seize. In such environments, it is worth considering a version with increased abrasion resistance or more frequent, dedicated lubrication - ask about the options available for this pitch.
Can a chain be ordered in a length other than a multiple of the pitch?
Yes - with an odd number of links, a half link (offset link) is used. However, bear in mind that fitting it slightly weakens the chain, so whenever possible it is better to choose a length with an even number of links.
Where is this product used?
The chain is used in production machine drives, transport conveyors, industrial mills and mixers, sorting lines and in maintenance as a replacement part for existing chain drives.
