Product Description

Roller chain 08B-1 for curved running

Chain 08B-1 is an industrial-grade simplex roller chain with a pitch of 12.7 mm, designed for use in drives of machines and production equipment. Pins, rollers and plates are hardened separately before assembly - as a Polish manufacturer we treat this as standard, which means the chain retains its original dimensions for a long time and does not "stretch" under load. Ozdowski hardens each chain component individually before final assembly - thanks to this, our chains are more durable and stronger, with a strength reserve reaching approx. 20% above the requirements of the standard.

Frequently asked questions

How do I choose the right roller chain for an industrial drive?

The key is to determine three parameters: pitch, inner width and roller diameter - for 08B these are 12.7 mm, 7.75 mm and 8.51 mm respectively. In addition, operating conditions should be taken into account: load, rotational speed and environment (dust, moisture), in order to select the right version.

How does the SB (side-bow) chain differ from the standard version of the same pitch?

In the SB chain the pins are made at a special angle, and the clearance obtained in this way allows the chain to be bent to the radius R appropriate for the given pitch. This solution allows a conveyor to negotiate a bend in its route using one common drive, without installing two separate drives at the curve - used e.g. in the bakery industry. Please confirm the exact value of radius R for this pitch with our sales department.

In what lengths are OZD chains sold?

As standard, we supply chains in convenient factory rolls of 5 metres or by the metre - tailored to the needs of maintenance departments.

When should an offset link (half link) be used in a chain drive?

An offset link is used only when the chain length requires an odd number of links. Bear in mind that fitting an offset link slightly weakens the chain, so it is better to choose a length that avoids it.

Where is this product used?

The side-bow chain is used in conveyors that must negotiate a bend in their route using one common drive - without the need to install two separate drives at the curve. Typical applications are transport lines in the bakery industry and other conveyors with a curved section of route.
