Product Description
Roller chain 08B-1, acid-resistant
08B-1 in the stainless version (acid-resistant, 316L) is a simplex roller chain with a pitch of 12.7 mm, designed for operation in humid or corrosive environments. The pin, roller and plate are hardened separately before the link is assembled - as a Polish manufacturer, we apply the same principle to the stainless version too, for uniform hardness of the components. Thanks to hardening each component separately, even before the whole chain is assembled, Ozdowski products achieve a breaking strength about 20% higher than the minimum values specified by the standard.

Frequently asked questions
How do I select a stainless 08B chain for a drive or conveyor?
Three parameters are key: pitch, inner width and roller diameter - for 08B they are 12.7 mm, 7.75 mm and 8.51 mm respectively. In addition, in a corrosive environment it is worth assessing whether standard stainless steel is sufficient or whether the acid-resistant 316L version is needed.
How does the acid-resistant version (316L) differ from standard stainless steel?
316L steel additionally contains 2-3% molybdenum, which significantly increases resistance to chlorides and acidic environments - which is why it is described as “acid-resistant”. It performs well where standard stainless steel (304) is not sufficient: in marine environments, in the chemical industry and on lines with frequent contact with salt or aggressive cleaning agents.
How do you choose the right connecting link for a stainless chain?
The link must have the same pitch, inner width and number of strands as the chain, and in a corrosive environment - the same or a higher level of material resistance (e.g. a 316L connector for a 316L chain).
What operating temperature can a stainless chain withstand?
Depending on lubrication and design, stainless chains can operate in dryers and ovens at temperatures of up to 400°C - far more than a typical carbon steel chain with standard grease.
Where is this product used?
This material version performs well in the chemical and marine/offshore industries and in wastewater treatment plants - wherever standard stainless steel (304) does not provide sufficient resistance to chlorides.
