Chain 08B-1 (simplex) is a proven solution for power transmission in mechanical systems, made with a pitch of 12.7 mm. Pins, rollers and plates are hardened separately before assembly - as a European manufacturer, we treat this as standard, so the chain retains its original dimensions for a long time and does not "stretch" under load. Ozdowski brand chains offer strength up to 20% higher than the standard requires - each component (pin, roller, plate) is hardened individually before the chain is assembled, which translates into greater durability and resistance to elongation.

How do I choose the right roller chain for an industrial drive?
The key is to determine three parameters: pitch, inner width and roller diameter - for 08B these are 12.7 mm, 7.75 mm and 8.51 mm respectively. In addition, operating conditions should be taken into account: load, rotational speed and environment (dust, moisture), in order to select the right version.
How does lateral runout of the sprockets affect roller chain durability?
Misalignment of the sprockets causes the chain to jerk alternately from side to side. The inner surfaces of the plates then wear, and the pins are subjected to damaging bending forces.
What does chain "stretch" mean and how can it be prevented?
It is not a physical stretching of the sheet metal, but an increase in play caused by wear of the pins and working bushes. This is prevented by precise fitting of the components and regular lubrication.
