Roller chain 08B-1 ensures reliable torque transmission in industrial drives - pitch 12.7 mm, simplex version. Compliance with standard DIN 8187 / ISO 606 guarantees correct interaction with sprockets from other manufacturers; as a Polish manufacturer, we also focus on separate hardening of every link component. Ozdowski chains withstand loads approx. 20% higher than the standard minimum - this is the result of individual hardening of each component (pin, roller, plate) before the chain is assembled.

How do I choose the right roller chain for an industrial drive?

The key is to determine three parameters: pitch, inner width and roller diameter - for 08B these are 12.7 mm, 7.75 mm and 8.51 mm respectively. In addition, operating conditions should be taken into account: load, rotational speed and environment (dust, moisture), in order to select the right version.

Why does "dry" running shorten the service life of rollers and pins?

Lubrication reduces metal-to-metal friction in the joints and dissipates heat. Running without lubricant leads to micro-seizures and faster heating of the pins, which accelerates link wear.

What should roller chains operating at high temperatures be lubricated with?

Standard grease will quickly run off or carbonise at high temperature. In such conditions, dedicated synthetic oils with added graphite or molybdenum disulphide (MoS2) perform better.

Do chain guides extend the service life of roller chains?

Yes. A correctly mounted chain guide dampens vibrations, reduces noise and prevents chain whip, which is one of the more common causes of link breakage and premature wear.
