Product Description
Roller chain 08A-2 (40-2)
The 08A-2 chain is a duplex American chain proven in maintenance, chain number 40, pitch 12.7 mm. Manufactured in accordance with the standard ANSI B29.1; as a European manufacturer, we guarantee dimensional compatibility with sprockets designed to the same standard. Thanks to hardening each component separately, even before the whole chain is assembled, Ozdowski products achieve a breaking strength about 20% higher than the minimum values specified by the standard.

Frequently asked questions
How do you choose the correct ANSI roller chain pitch for a drive?
Three parameters determine the correct selection: pitch, inner width and roller diameter - for 08A (ANSI 40) they are 12.7 mm, 7.85 mm and 7.95 mm respectively. It is also worth considering the load, rotational speed and operating environment (dust, moisture) in order to choose the right version.
What is the purpose of the duplex design in a roller chain?
A duplex chain consists of two parallel rows of links mounted on common pins. This design is chosen when the installation space does not allow a sprocket with a larger pitch and the drive has to transmit a higher torque than the simplex version.
How does sprocket misalignment affect chain life?
Misaligned sprockets alternately "jerk" the chain sideways during operation. As a result, the inner surfaces of the plates wear and the pins are exposed to additional, damaging lateral forces.
What is behind the high durability of Ozdowski roller chains?
Each pin, roller and plate is hardened separately before the link is assembled - as a result, the hardness is uniform along the entire length of the component and not only on the surface, as is sometimes the case when an already assembled chain is hardened.
Where is this product used?
One of the most widely used chains in industry - agricultural machinery drives, conveyors, packaging machines, as well as wire drawing machines and printing presses.
