Product Description
Roller chain 08A-1 (40-1)
Chain 08A-1 is a simplex American chain proven in maintenance, chain number 40, pitch 12.7 mm. The pin, roller and plate are hardened separately before the link is assembled - the approach on which we, as a European manufacturer, build the durability of the entire American series. In Ozdowski chains, each component is hardened separately before being assembled into a finished link - which is why their actual strength exceeds the requirements of the standard by about 20%, meaning greater durability and resistance to breaking.

Frequently asked questions
How do you choose the correct ANSI roller chain pitch for a drive?
Three parameters determine the correct selection: pitch, inner width and roller diameter - for 08A (ANSI 40) they are 12.7 mm, 7.85 mm and 7.95 mm respectively. It is also worth considering the load, rotational speed and operating environment (dust, moisture) in order to choose the right version.
Which lubricant should be chosen for a chain operating at high temperature?
Under such conditions, standard lubricant quickly loses its properties or carbonises. Dedicated synthetic lubricants with added graphite or molybdenum disulphide (MoS2), which retain their lubricity at higher temperatures, perform better.
Does fitting a connecting link require special tools?
For normal fitting, pliers or flat-nose pliers are sufficient. When working directly on the machine, it is worth using a chain puller that holds both ends of the chain steady while the connecting link is fitted.
What does the letter H mean in designations such as 50H or 60H?
The letter "H" (heavy) indicates a reinforced series - the chain has identical pitch, width and roller diameter dimensions to the standard version of the same pitch, but thicker side plates, which results in higher resistance to shock loads.
Where is this product used?
One of the most widely used chains in industry - agricultural machinery drives, conveyors, packaging machines, as well as wire drawing machines and printing presses.
