Product Description
Roller chain 06B-2 stainless
This duplex roller chain 06B-2 is made of stainless steel and has a pitch of 9.53 mm. Manufactured in accordance with the standard DIN 8187 / ISO 606; as a European manufacturer, we guarantee dimensional compatibility with sprockets of the same standard, regardless of the material. In Ozdowski chains, each component is hardened separately before being assembled into a finished link - which is why their actual strength exceeds the requirements of the standard by about 20%, meaning greater durability and resistance to breaking.

Frequently asked questions
How do I select a stainless 06B chain for a drive or conveyor?
Three parameters are key: pitch, inner width and roller diameter - for 06B they are 9.53 mm, 5.72 mm and 6.35 mm respectively. In addition, in a corrosive environment it is worth assessing whether standard stainless steel is sufficient or whether the acid-resistant 316L version is needed.
What grade of steel is the stainless chain in this version made of?
The standard stainless version is made of chromium-nickel steel (type 304) containing approx. 18% chromium and 8-10% nickel. It performs well in humid conditions and in the food and pharmaceutical industries, where carbon steel would corrode.
What is the purpose of the duplex design in a roller chain?
A duplex chain consists of two parallel rows of links mounted on common pins. It is chosen when the installation space does not allow a sprocket with a larger pitch and the drive must transmit a higher torque than with the simplex version.
What operating temperature can a stainless chain withstand?
Depending on lubrication and design, stainless chains can operate in dryers and ovens at temperatures of up to 400°C - far more than a typical carbon steel chain with standard grease.
Where is this product used?
Used in the food and pharmaceutical industries - on production lines and conveyors washed daily with hot water and cleaning agents, where a carbon steel chain would quickly corrode.
