Product Description
Roller chain 06B-1 stainless
The stainless version of 06B-1 is a simplex roller chain with a pitch of 9.53 mm, designed for operation in humid or corrosive environments. Manufactured in accordance with the standard DIN 8187 / ISO 606; as a European manufacturer, we guarantee dimensional compatibility with sprockets of the same standard, regardless of the material. Ozdowski brand chains offer strength up to 20% higher than the standard requires - each component (pin, roller, plate) is hardened individually before the chain is assembled, which translates into greater durability and resistance to elongation.

Frequently asked questions
How do I select a stainless 06B chain for a drive or conveyor?
Three parameters are key: pitch, inner width and roller diameter - for 06B they are 9.53 mm, 5.72 mm and 6.35 mm respectively. In addition, in a corrosive environment it is worth assessing whether standard stainless steel is sufficient or whether the acid-resistant 316L version is needed.
What grade of steel is the stainless chain in this version made of?
The standard stainless version is made of chromium-nickel steel (type 304) containing approx. 18% chromium and 8-10% nickel. It performs well in humid conditions and in the food and pharmaceutical industries, where carbon steel would corrode.
Does fitting a connecting link require special tools?
For normal fitting, pliers or flat-nose pliers are sufficient. When working on a machine, a chain puller that holds both ends of the chain while the link is being fitted makes the job easier.
Does stainless steel have lower strength than carbon steel of the same pitch?
Yes, usually a somewhat lower tensile strength than hardened carbon steel of the same dimensions - this is the price of achieving corrosion resistance. This should be taken into account when selecting a chain for a heavily loaded drive.
Where is this product used?
Used in the food and pharmaceutical industries - on production lines and conveyors washed daily with hot water and cleaning agents, where a carbon steel chain would quickly corrode.
