The 06A-2 chain is a duplex American chain proven in maintenance, chain number 35, pitch 9.525 mm. Every unit in this series meets the requirements of the standard ANSI B29.1; production includes individual hardening of the pin, roller and plate, which we as a European manufacturer regard as the basis of durability. The Ozdowski brand hardens pins, rollers and plates individually, before the links are assembled into a complete chain - as a result, our chains are approx. 20% stronger than the standard requires and therefore more durable and robust when working under load.

How do you choose the correct ANSI roller chain pitch for a drive?

Three parameters determine the correct selection: pitch, inner width and roller diameter - for 06A (ANSI 35) they are 9.525 mm, 4.77 mm and 5.08 mm respectively. It is also worth considering the load, rotational speed and operating environment (dust, moisture) in order to choose the right version.

What is the purpose of the duplex design in a roller chain?

A duplex chain consists of two parallel rows of links mounted on common pins. This design is chosen when the installation space does not allow a sprocket with a larger pitch and the drive has to transmit a higher torque than the simplex version.

What does the letter H mean in designations such as 50H or 60H?

The letter "H" (heavy) indicates a reinforced series - the chain has identical pitch, width and roller diameter dimensions to the standard version of the same pitch, but thicker side plates, which results in higher resistance to shock loads.

Which lubricant should be chosen for a chain operating at high temperature?

Under such conditions, standard lubricant quickly loses its properties or carbonises. Dedicated synthetic lubricants with added graphite or molybdenum disulphide (MoS2), which retain their lubricity at higher temperatures, perform better.
