Product Description
Roller chain 05B-1 stainless
The stainless version of 05B-1 is a simplex roller chain with a pitch of 8 mm, designed for operation in humid or corrosive environments. Manufactured in accordance with the standard DIN 8187 / ISO 606; as a Polish manufacturer, we guarantee dimensional compatibility with sprockets of the same standard, regardless of the material. Ozdowski hardens each chain component individually before final assembly - thanks to this, our chains are more durable and stronger, with a strength reserve reaching approx. 20% above the requirements of the standard.

Frequently asked questions
How do I select a stainless 05B chain for a drive or conveyor?
Three parameters are key: pitch, inner width and roller diameter - for 05B they are 8 mm, 3 mm and 5 mm respectively. In addition, in a corrosive environment it is worth assessing whether standard stainless steel is sufficient or whether the acid-resistant 316L version is needed.
What grade of steel is the stainless chain in this version made of?
The standard stainless version is made of chromium-nickel steel (type 304) containing approx. 18% chromium and 8-10% nickel. It performs well in humid conditions and in the food and pharmaceutical industries, where carbon steel would corrode.
What is the difference between a connecting link (clip link) and an offset link (half link)?
A connecting link closes a chain with an even number of links and has the full strength of a standard link. An offset link is used only when the chain length requires an odd number of links - its design is slightly weaker, so whenever possible it is better to select a chain length that does not require it.
How can you tell that a chain is due for replacement?
The main sign is elongation exceeding approx. 2-3% of the original chain length, resulting from increasing play between the pins and bushes. It is also worth checking the rollers for cracks and for uneven running on the sprockets.
Where is this product used?
Used on conveyors and in packaging machines in food and pharmaceutical plants, as well as in rooms with high humidity where ease of cleaning is required.
