Product Description
Roller chain 04A-1 (25-1) stainless
04A-1 in the stainless version is a simplex roller chain with a pitch of 6.35 mm, designed for operation in humid or corrosive environments. Manufactured in accordance with the standard ANSI B29.1; as a Polish manufacturer, we guarantee dimensional compatibility with sprockets designed to the same standard. Thanks to hardening each component separately, even before the whole chain is assembled, Ozdowski products achieve a breaking strength about 20% higher than the minimum values specified by the standard.

Frequently asked questions
How do you select a stainless 04A chain for a drive or conveyor?
Three parameters are key: pitch, inner width and roller diameter - for 04A they are 6.35 mm, 3.18 mm and 3.3 mm respectively. In addition, in a corrosive environment it is worth assessing whether standard stainless steel is sufficient or whether the acid-resistant 316L version is needed.
What grade of steel is the stainless chain in this version made of?
The standard stainless version is made of chromium-nickel steel (type 304) containing approx. 18% chromium and 8-10% nickel. It performs well in humid conditions and in the food and pharmaceutical industries, where carbon steel would corrode.
Can standard industrial grease be used on a stainless chain?
In food or pharmaceutical environments where contact with the product is possible, lubricants approved for food contact (NSF H1 class) must be used rather than standard industrial grease.
What operating temperature can a stainless chain withstand?
Depending on lubrication and design, stainless chains can operate in dryers and ovens at temperatures of up to 400°C - far more than a typical carbon steel chain with standard grease.
Where is this product used?
The stainless version of the American chain is used as a replacement in machine drives and conveyors designed to the inch-based ANSI system that operate in humid environments or in contact with food.
