Product Description
Bevel gear set module 4.5 z=16/40, ratio 1:2.5, type B, straight teeth, C45 steel is a pair of mating bevel gears (pinion and gear) with module 4.5 and ratio 1:2.5, designed to turn the drive through 90°. The gears are made of C45E steel, pressure angle 20°.
The pitch diameter of the pinion is 72 mm and of the gear 180 mm. The pilot bore Ø25/30 mm is bored out to the shaft size.

Frequently asked questions
Which bevel gears have module 4.5, 16/40 teeth and a 1:2.5 ratio?
This is the bevel gear set module 4.5 z=16/40, ratio 1:2.5, type B, straight teeth, C45 steel. The pinion has a pitch diameter of 72 mm and the gear 180 mm.
Are both gears included in the set?
Yes. The set contains two mating bevel gears (z=16 and z=40) matched to work as a pair. Gears with the same module from other sets may have a different cone geometry and should not be combined.
How are bevel gears mounted?
The shaft axes must intersect at 90°. The gears are positioned axially so that the apexes of their pitch cones coincide, with a small backlash between the teeth. Too little backlash causes heating and noise, too much causes knocking when the direction of rotation changes.
How do I prepare the bore for the shaft?
The pilot bore Ø25/30 mm is bored out on a lathe to the shaft size (usually to tolerance H7) and a keyway is cut to DIN 6885. The gear is secured axially with a set screw in the hub or a retaining ring.
Do bevel gears need lubrication?
Yes. Steel bevel gears are lubricated with grease or gear oil - this reduces wear and noise and protects against corrosion.
What does the lead time depend on?
When ordering, please check the current stock level of these gears - the lead time depends on it and is clearly stated according to the quantity available in each warehouse. The stock level is shown above the product price and may differ between warehouses.
