PA6+FV plastic bevel gears

Plastic bevel gears are straight-tooth pairs made of glass-fibre reinforced PA6 polyamide (PA6+FV). They are designed for light right-angle gear drives where low mass, quiet running and moisture resistance matter more than high load capacity.

Plastic does not rust, so the gears cope well with moisture and frequent washing of the equipment. They are many times lighter than steel gears, which reduces the load on shafts and bearings, and polyamide dampens vibration and limits gear drive noise. The glass fibre stiffens the material, so the teeth hold their shape under load better than in gears made of plain PA6.

Frequently asked questions about using plastic bevel gears with steel gears

Can I combine a plastic gear with a steel gear?

We do not recommend it. Gears of different stiffness wear unevenly, and a pair works best when both gears are matched together. That is why gears from this group should be replaced as a complete pair.
