Product Description
Timing belt pulley PolyChain PCB 8M 21 z=64 Steel - for HTD 8M / PolyChain GT belts with a pitch of 8 mm (HTD). Made of C45 steel with a profile optimised for Gates PolyChain GT polyurethane belts.
The pilot bore allows the pulley to be bored precisely to the shaft size and the fit required by the machine, to H7 tolerance. The keyway is cut on a slotting machine according to DIN 6885.
Typical applications: industrial drives, heavy machinery, production lines.

How do you choose a pulley for a toothed belt?
The key is matching the series (8M = 8 mm pitch (HTD)) and the belt width (21 mm). The drive ratio is calculated by dividing the number of teeth of the driven pulley by the number of teeth of the driving pulley.
How can you recognise a worn pulley groove?
If the bottom of the groove is shiny, the belt has bottomed out and no longer wedges against the flanks - the pulley needs replacing. Profile gauges are used for checking.
