Product Description
Timing pulley HTD 8M z=144 for 50 mm belt, for Taper-Lock 3020, cast iron is a timing (synchronous) pulley for HTD 8M belts: pitch 8 mm, 144 teeth, belt width 50 mm. The HTD profile has teeth with a curvilinear shape that spread the load evenly and transmit higher torque than trapezoidal profiles. It is made of EN-GJL-200 grey cast iron.
The pitch diameter is 366.69 mm and the outside diameter 365.32 mm. The pulley has a seat for a Taper-Lock 3020 clamping bush (bush sold separately) - the bush bore is chosen to suit the shaft, up to 75 mm, without boring the pulley.

Frequently asked questions
Which timing pulley has the HTD 8M profile, 144 teeth and a pitch diameter of 366.69 mm?
This is the timing pulley HTD 8M z=144 for 50 mm belt, for Taper-Lock 3020, cast iron. The outside diameter (over the tooth tips) is 365.32 mm. The pitch diameter is calculated as Dp = pitch × z / π = 8 × 144 / π.
Which timing belt fits this pulley?
An HTD 8M belt 50 mm wide, e.g. a belt designated 1200-8M-50, where 1200 is the belt length in mm. A narrower belt of the same profile will also run correctly.
Does this pulley work with a T or AT belt?
No. T and AT belts have a trapezoidal tooth and HTD a curvilinear one, so they do not mesh correctly with this pulley. The pulley and the belt must have the same profile and pitch.
Which Taper-Lock bush do I need for this pulley?
A Taper-Lock 3020 bush. The bush is bought separately and its bore is chosen to match the shaft diameter - up to 75 mm for this pulley. The bush clamps onto the shaft when the screws are tightened, so the pulley does not need to be bored and removal is easy.
How do I calculate the ratio of a drive with this pulley?
The ratio is the number of teeth of the driven pulley divided by the number of teeth of the driving pulley, e.g. 144 / 18 = 8. A timing belt drive has no slip, so the ratio is constant.
How does a cast iron pulley differ from a steel one?
EN-GJL-200 grey cast iron damps vibration well and is used mainly for larger pulleys. C45 steel pulleys are chosen for smaller diameters and where shock loads occur.
What does the lead time depend on?
When ordering, please check the current stock level of this pulley - the lead time depends on it and is clearly stated according to the quantity available in each warehouse. The stock level is shown above the product price and may differ between warehouses.
