Product Description

Tandem sprocket 16B z=15 for two simplex chains, width 55 mm, C45 steel, hardened teeth is a sprocket with two toothed rims for two simplex roller chains 16B-1 (DIN 8187 / ISO 606) with a pitch of 25.4 mm (1"). Each rim has 15 teeth, and the sprocket is made of C45 steel.

Each chain runs on its own rim, independently of the other. The sprocket is a plate wheel without a hub. The teeth are hardened, so they withstand wear from the chain rollers better.

Frequently asked questions

Which chain does this sprocket fit?

With two simplex roller chains 16B-1 to European standard DIN 8187 / ISO 606, with a pitch of 25.4 mm. Each chain runs on its own toothed rim.

What is the difference between a tandem sprocket and a duplex sprocket?

A tandem sprocket has two rims for two separate simplex chains 16B-1 - each chain runs on its own rim and can drive a different consumer. A duplex sprocket is designed for one duplex chain 16B-2, whose two rows of rollers are connected by common pins. That is why a duplex chain is not fitted on a tandem sprocket.

Does it fit ASA 80 chain?

No. ASA 80 chain (American standard) has the same pitch and roller diameter, but a different inner width (15.88 mm instead of 17.02 mm). The 16B sprocket is designed for European-standard chain, so the two systems should not be mixed.

Can a new chain be fitted on a worn sprocket?

This should not be done. A worn sprocket has a changed tooth profile, so a new chain runs unevenly and elongates quickly. The rule is: new chain - new sprockets.

How do I check the pitch of a sprocket?

The sprocket pitch matches the chain pitch - it is the distance between the centres of adjacent teeth measured on the pitch circle. The easiest way to check it is to place a section of matching chain on the sprocket: it should sit on the teeth without tension. This sprocket has a pitch of 25.4 mm (1").

What does the lead time depend on?

When ordering, please check the current stock level of this sprocket - the lead time depends on it and is clearly stated according to the quantity available in each warehouse. The stock level is shown above the product price and may vary depending on the warehouse.
