Product Description
Sprocket 24B-3 z=15, with hub
Triplex (three-strand) sprocket 24B-3 with hub, 15 teeth - designed for chain with a pitch of 1 1/2" (38.1 mm). As a European manufacturer, Ozdowski supplies the sprocket in C45E steel (EN 10083-1), in accordance with DIN 8187 / ISO 606 - a version without tooth hardening, cheaper than the hardened variant and sufficient for many typical industrial applications.

Frequently asked questions
How do you correctly align sprockets during installation?
The driving and driven sprockets must be in one perfect line. You can use a long steel straightedge placed against the faces of both sprockets or a professional laser alignment tool. Even a slight angular deviation will quickly destroy the chain.
Do I need to select dedicated bearings for a sprocket with hub?
A sprocket with hub mounted with a key does not require its own bearings - the load is carried by the bearings of the shaft on which the sprocket is mounted. A dedicated bearing built into the sprocket is only needed for tensioning or guide sprockets mounted on an axle without its own drive.
Does the difference in hardness between sprocket and chain affect their rate of wear?
Yes - chain and sprocket manufacturers select hardness so that they wear as evenly as possible, rather than one element "cutting down" the other. An excessively hard sprocket working with a soft, non-certified chain (or vice versa) leads to faster wear of the weaker element.
What is the set screw hole in the hub for?
The threaded hole in the hub is used to screw in a headless screw (a so-called grub screw). It secures the sprocket against axial displacement along the shaft during machine vibration.
Where is this product used?
This type of sprocket is used in drives of agricultural and industrial machinery, including screw and bucket conveyors, feed conveyors, packaging machines and internal transport systems.
