Product Description
Sprocket 24B-3 z=10, with hub
Sprocket 24B-3 with hub, 10 teeth, triplex (three-strand) - a product matched to chain with a pitch of 38.1 mm (1 1/2"). The sprocket complies with DIN 8187 / ISO 606 and is made of C45E steel (EN 10083-1); the teeth are not hardened, which lowers the cost of the sprocket and makes it easier to machine (e.g. deep boring of the hub) throughout the entire volume of the material.

Frequently asked questions
What is the set screw hole in the hub for?
The threaded hole in the hub is used to screw in a headless screw (a so-called grub screw). It secures the sprocket against axial displacement along the shaft during machine vibration.
What does the pitch of a sprocket mean and how can it be checked?
The pitch of a sprocket corresponds to the chain pitch - it is the theoretical distance between the centres of adjacent teeth on the pitch circle. The easiest way to check it is to place a section of matching chain on the sprocket - it should sit perfectly, without tension.
Do I need to select dedicated bearings for a sprocket with hub?
A sprocket with hub mounted with a key does not require its own bearings - the load is carried by the bearings of the shaft on which the sprocket is mounted. A dedicated bearing built into the sprocket is only needed for tensioning or guide sprockets mounted on an axle without its own drive.
How do I select a sprocket for a roller chain?
The selected sprocket must match the chain parameters exactly. Pay attention to three things: the standard (European B series), the pitch and the number of strands. The sprocket must have a tooth profile compliant with DIN 8187 so that the chain enters the tooth root smoothly without jamming.
Where is this product used?
24B-3 sprockets operate in drives of construction machinery, goods lifts, aggregate conveyors and woodworking machines - wherever tooth durability under load matters.
