Product Description
Sprocket 24B-1 z=95, with hub
The sprocket 24B-1 shown is a simplex sprocket with 95 teeth, made with a hub, for chain with a pitch of 1 1/2" / 38.1 mm. Manufactured in accordance with DIN 8187 / ISO 606 from C45E structural steel (EN 10083-1), without tooth hardening - as a Polish manufacturer, Ozdowski supplies an economical version that is fully dimensionally interchangeable with the hardened variant of the same pitch.

Frequently asked questions
In what cases are multi-strand sprockets used?
They are used to drive multi-strand chains in heavily loaded machines where there is no room for a wider sprocket with a larger pitch. Several strands distribute the load evenly, preventing premature chain breakage.
When is it worth using a clamping bush (Taper Bush) for a sprocket?
Wherever fast assembly matters. A clamping bush eliminates the need for laborious boring of the hub and cutting of a keyway - you insert the sprocket, tighten the screws and the machine is back in operation within minutes.
How do you select the number of teeth on the driving and driven sprockets to obtain the required ratio?
The ratio is calculated as the quotient of the number of teeth on the driven sprocket and the number of teeth on the driving sprocket. For example, to halve the rotational speed, the driven sprocket should have twice as many teeth as the driving sprocket - both sprockets must have the same pitch and number of strands.
How do I bore the hole in a sprocket to fit a motor shaft?
A sprocket with a pilot bore should be clamped in a lathe (gripping the hub to avoid runout) and bored to the required diameter with an H7 tolerance. The hub is usually soft and easy to machine, even in the version with hardened teeth.
Where is this product used?
Applications include drives in the food industry, packaging machines, sorting lines and agricultural harvesting machines, where the sprocket operates seasonally but under full load.
