Product Description
Sprocket 20B-3 z=76 for Taper-Lock bush 4040, cast iron is designed for 20B-3 roller chain (European standard DIN 8187 / ISO 606), triple-strand (triplex), with a pitch of 31.75 mm (1 1/4"). It has 76 teeth and is made of EN-GJL-250 cast iron.
The sprocket has a seat for a Taper-Lock 4040 clamping bush, so it can be mounted on the shaft without boring the hole or cutting a keyway in the sprocket - simply choose a 4040 bush with a bore that matches the shaft. The hub diameter is 240 mm and the total width of the sprocket is 102 mm. The bush is not included - the 4040 bush can be purchased separately from our range.

Applications
It is designed for heavy-duty drives: aggregate conveyors, construction machinery and mining equipment. The triple-strand version is chosen for very heavily loaded drives where there is no room for a chain with a larger pitch. The cast iron design works well for large sprockets in reduction gears, where rigidity and vibration damping matter.
Frequently asked questions
Which chain does this sprocket fit?
20B-3 roller chain to European standard DIN 8187 / ISO 606, with a pitch of 31.75 mm. A triplex sprocket requires a triple-strand (triplex) chain.
Does it fit ASA 100 chain?
No. ASA 100 chain (American standard) has the same pitch and roller diameter, but a different inner width (19.05 mm instead of 19.56 mm). The 20B sprocket is designed for European-standard chain, so the two systems should not be mixed.
How do I remove a sprocket with a Taper-Lock bush?
Remove the mounting screws and screw one of them into the free dismounting hole. The screw then acts as a puller and pushes the bush out of the sprocket seat.
Can a Taper-Lock bush be used on a shaft without a keyway?
The bush holds on the shaft by friction, but in drives transmitting high torque a key is an essential safeguard. Bushes with larger bores have a standard keyway to DIN 6885.
How can run-out be avoided after mounting the bush?
Cleanliness of the shaft, the bush and the sprocket seat is crucial. Even a small chip between the bush taper and the sprocket causes run-out, which accelerates wear of the chain and bearings.
What does the lead time depend on?
When ordering, please check the current stock level of this sprocket - the lead time depends on it and is clearly stated according to the quantity available in each warehouse. The stock level is shown above the product price and may vary depending on the warehouse.
