Product Description
Sprocket 20B-1 z=46, with hub
The sprocket 20B-1 shown is a simplex sprocket with 46 teeth, made with a hub, for chain with a pitch of 1 1/4" / 31.75 mm. Compliance with DIN 8187 / ISO 606 guarantees full interchangeability with a chain of the same pitch; the sprocket is made of C45E steel (EN 10083-1) in a non-hardened version - the standard choice for applications with moderate and medium load.

Frequently asked questions
Can I replace a simplex sprocket with a duplex one without changing the other drive components?
No - switching to a duplex chain and sprocket requires replacing the entire set (the sprockets on both sides of the drive and the chain) with a duplex version of the same pitch, because the rim spacing and chain width differ from those of the simplex version.
When ordering several sprockets for one drive, do they have identical production parameters?
Sprockets of the same catalogue item are produced according to the same documentation and tolerances, so their parameters (pitch, number of teeth, dimensions) match each other regardless of when they were ordered. Any slight differences in the shade of the steel between production batches have no effect on how the sprocket works with the chain.
What is a technological bore in a sprocket and why is it left?
We manufacture sprockets with hub with a small, so-called pilot (preliminary) bore. We leave it deliberately so that the customer (or workshop) can bore it precisely to the exact shaft size of their machine.
Can a new chain be fitted on an old, worn sprocket?
Never do this. An old, deformed sprocket has altered tooth geometry and will force drastic mechanical stretching on the new chain. The rule is "new chain - new sprocket" - only then will the drive achieve maximum service life.
Where is this product used?
20B-1 sprockets operate in drives of construction machinery, goods lifts, aggregate conveyors and woodworking machines - wherever tooth durability under load matters.
