Product Description
Tandem sprocket 16B z=13 for two simplex chains, for Taper-Lock bush 1615, C45 steel is a sprocket with two toothed rims for two simplex roller chains 16B-1 (DIN 8187 / ISO 606) with a pitch of 25.4 mm (1"). Each rim has 13 teeth, and the sprocket is made of C45 steel.
The rims are spaced 47.3 mm apart, so each chain runs on its own rim, independently of the other. The sprocket has a seat for a Taper-Lock 1615 clamping bush, so it can be mounted on the shaft without boring the hole or cutting a keyway in the sprocket - simply choose a 1615 bush with a bore that matches the shaft (up to 42 mm). The bush is not included - the 1615 bush can be purchased separately from our range.

Applications
It is used on intermediate shafts that receive the drive via one chain and pass it on via the other, as well as in drives that split the torque between two independent consumers.
Frequently asked questions
Which chain does this sprocket fit?
With two simplex roller chains 16B-1 to European standard DIN 8187 / ISO 606, with a pitch of 25.4 mm. Each chain runs on its own toothed rim.
What is the difference between a tandem sprocket and a duplex sprocket?
A tandem sprocket has two rims for two separate simplex chains 16B-1 - each chain runs on its own rim and can drive a different consumer. A duplex sprocket is designed for one duplex chain 16B-2, whose two rows of rollers are connected by common pins. That is why a duplex chain is not fitted on a tandem sprocket - the rims of this sprocket are spaced 47.3 mm apart, while the roller rows of the 16B-2 chain are 31.88 mm apart.
Does it fit ASA 80 chain?
No. ASA 80 chain (American standard) has the same pitch and roller diameter, but a different inner width (15.88 mm instead of 17.02 mm). The 16B sprocket is designed for European-standard chain, so the two systems should not be mixed.
How do I choose the bush for this sprocket?
The sprocket has a seat for a Taper-Lock 1615 bush, so you need a bush with the same number. It is chosen with a bore that matches the shaft diameter - a 1615 bush accepts bores up to 42 mm. Before ordering, it is worth measuring the shaft carefully with a caliper in several places.
How do I check the pitch of a sprocket?
The sprocket pitch matches the chain pitch - it is the distance between the centres of adjacent teeth measured on the pitch circle. The easiest way to check it is to place a section of matching chain on the sprocket: it should sit on the teeth without tension. This sprocket has a pitch of 25.4 mm (1").
What does the lead time depend on?
When ordering, please check the current stock level of this sprocket - the lead time depends on it and is clearly stated according to the quantity available in each warehouse. The stock level is shown above the product price and may vary depending on the warehouse.
