Product Description

Sprocket 16B-3 z=35, with hub

Sprocket 16B-3, triplex (three-strand), with 35 teeth and a hub - pitch 1" (25.4 mm). As a European manufacturer, Ozdowski supplies the sprocket in C45E steel (EN 10083-1), in accordance with DIN 8187 / ISO 606 - a version without tooth hardening, cheaper than the hardened variant and sufficient for many typical industrial applications.

Frequently asked questions

In what cases are multi-strand sprockets used?

They are used to drive multi-strand chains in heavily loaded machines where there is no room for a wider sprocket with a larger pitch. Several strands distribute the load evenly, preventing premature chain breakage.

How do I check the radial and axial runout of a sprocket after mounting it on the shaft?

A dial indicator on a magnetic stand is used for the measurement. Place the tip against the circumference of the sprocket or its side face, rotate the shaft and check the deviations. Excessive runout indicates faulty installation or a damaged shaft.

How do I bore the hole in a sprocket to fit a motor shaft?

A sprocket with a pilot bore should be clamped in a lathe (gripping the hub to avoid runout) and bored to the required diameter with an H7 tolerance. The hub is usually soft and easy to machine, even in the version with hardened teeth.

Does a larger number of teeth always mean a longer service life for the sprocket?

Largely yes - the more teeth are engaged, the lower the load on each individual tooth, and the chain runs over a larger wrap angle, which reduces dynamic impacts. Very small sprockets (with fewer than fifteen or so teeth) wear the fastest and are best avoided if the drive design allows.

Where is this product used?

16B-3 sprockets operate in drives of construction machinery, goods lifts, aggregate conveyors and woodworking machines - wherever tooth durability under load matters.

When placing your order, please check the current stock level of this gear - the lead time depends on it and is clearly stated according to the quantity available in the given warehouse.
