Product Description

Sprocket 16B-2 z=13 for Taper-Lock bush 2012, C45 steel is designed for 16B-2 roller chain (European standard DIN 8187 / ISO 606), double-strand (duplex), with a pitch of 25.4 mm (1"). It has 13 teeth and is made of C45 steel.

The sprocket has a seat for a Taper-Lock 2012 clamping bush, so it can be mounted on the shaft without boring the hole or cutting a keyway in the sprocket - simply choose a 2012 bush with a bore that matches the shaft. The total width of the sprocket is 47.7 mm. The bush is not included - the 2012 bush can be purchased separately from our range.

Frequently asked questions

Which chain does this sprocket fit?

16B-2 roller chain to European standard DIN 8187 / ISO 606, with a pitch of 25.4 mm. A duplex sprocket requires a double-strand (duplex) chain.

Does it fit ASA 80 chain?

No. ASA 80 chain (American standard) has the same pitch and roller diameter, but a different inner width (15.88 mm instead of 17.02 mm). The 16B sprocket is designed for European-standard chain, so the two systems should not be mixed.

When does a sprocket need replacing?

When the teeth start to look like pointed shark fins or are clearly bent to one side. Running on such a profile quickly destroys even a new chain, so a worn sprocket must be replaced. Thanks to the Taper-Lock bush, replacement is quick.

Can a new chain be fitted on a worn sprocket?

This should not be done. A worn sprocket has a changed tooth profile, so a new chain runs unevenly and elongates quickly. The rule is: new chain - new sprockets.

When are multi-strand sprockets used?

Double- and triple-strand sprockets work with multi-strand chains in heavily loaded drives where there is no room for a chain with a larger pitch. Several strands share the load evenly, which reduces wear and the risk of chain breakage.

What does the lead time depend on?

When ordering, please check the current stock level of this sprocket - the lead time depends on it and is clearly stated according to the quantity available in each warehouse. The stock level is shown above the product price and may vary depending on the warehouse.
