Product Description
Tandem sprocket 12B z=15 for two simplex chains, for Taper-Lock bush 1610, C45 steel works with two simplex roller chains 12B-1 (European standard DIN 8187 / ISO 606) with a pitch of 19.05 mm (3/4"). It has two rims with 15 teeth each on a common body, made of C45 steel.
The rims are spaced 33.9 mm apart, so each chain runs on its own rim, independently of the other. The sprocket has a seat for a Taper-Lock 1610 clamping bush, so it can be mounted on the shaft without boring the hole or cutting a keyway in the sprocket - simply choose a 1610 bush with a bore that matches the shaft (up to 42 mm). The bush is not included - the 1610 bush can be purchased separately from our range.

Applications
It works well in drives where motion from one shaft has to be transferred to two separate simplex chains - for example in conveyors with two chain strands and in agricultural and packaging machines.
Frequently asked questions
Which chain does this sprocket fit?
With two simplex roller chains 12B-1 to European standard DIN 8187 / ISO 606, with a pitch of 19.05 mm. Each chain runs on its own toothed rim.
What is the difference between a tandem sprocket and a duplex sprocket?
A tandem sprocket has two rims for two separate simplex chains 12B-1 - each chain runs on its own rim and can drive a different consumer. A duplex sprocket is designed for one duplex chain 12B-2, whose two rows of rollers are connected by common pins. That is why a duplex chain is not fitted on a tandem sprocket - the rims of this sprocket are spaced 33.9 mm apart, while the roller rows of the 12B-2 chain are 19.46 mm apart.
Does it fit ASA 60 chain?
No. ASA 60 chain (American standard) has the same pitch, but a different roller diameter (11.91 mm instead of 12.07 mm) and a different inner width (12.7 mm instead of 11.68 mm). The 12B sprocket is designed for European-standard chain, so the two systems should not be mixed.
How do I choose the bush for this sprocket?
The sprocket has a seat for a Taper-Lock 1610 bush, so you need a bush with the same number. It is chosen with a bore that matches the shaft diameter - a 1610 bush accepts bores up to 42 mm. Before ordering, it is worth measuring the shaft carefully with a caliper in several places.
How should the sprockets be aligned during installation?
Each of the two chains must run in one plane with its mating sprocket. For alignment, you can use a long steel straightedge placed against the sides of the sprockets or a laser alignment tool. Even a slight deviation causes wear on the tooth flanks and accelerates chain wear.
What does the lead time depend on?
When ordering, please check the current stock level of this sprocket - the lead time depends on it and is clearly stated according to the quantity available in each warehouse. The stock level is shown above the product price and may vary depending on the warehouse.
