Product Description
Sprocket 12B-3 z=38 for Taper-Lock bush 3020 works with 12B-3 roller chain (European standard DIN 8187 / ISO 606), triple-strand (triplex), with a pitch of 19.05 mm (3/4"). It has 38 teeth and is made of C45 steel.
The sprocket has a seat for a Taper-Lock 3020 clamping bush, so it can be mounted on the shaft without boring the hole or cutting a keyway in the sprocket - simply choose a 3020 bush with a bore that matches the shaft. The hub diameter is 140 mm and the total width of the sprocket is 51 mm. The bush is not included - the 3020 bush can be purchased separately from our range.

Applications
It works in chain transmissions of industrial machinery where easy sprocket replacement is important. The triple-strand version is chosen for very heavily loaded drives where there is no room for a chain with a larger pitch.
Frequently asked questions
Which chain does this sprocket fit?
12B-3 roller chain to European standard DIN 8187 / ISO 606, with a pitch of 19.05 mm. A triplex sprocket requires a triple-strand (triplex) chain.
Does it fit ASA 60 chain?
No. ASA 60 chain (American standard) has the same pitch, but a different roller diameter (11.91 mm instead of 12.07 mm) and a different inner width (12.7 mm instead of 11.68 mm). The 12B sprocket is designed for European-standard chain, so the two systems should not be mixed.
Is this sprocket available in another version?
Yes. Also available: Sprocket 12B-3 z=38 for Taper-Lock bush 3020 hardened.
How does the number of teeth affect the drive ratio?
The ratio is the number of teeth of the driven wheel divided by the number of teeth of the driving wheel. If this sprocket drives a wheel with twice as many teeth, the driven shaft turns twice as slowly but with roughly twice the torque.
How should sprockets be aligned during installation?
The driving and driven sprockets must lie in one plane. Alignment can be checked with a long steel straightedge placed against the sides of both wheels or with a laser alignment tool. Even a small misalignment wears the sides of the teeth and speeds up chain wear.
What does the lead time depend on?
When ordering, please check the current stock level of this sprocket - the lead time depends on it and is clearly stated according to the quantity available in each warehouse. The stock level is shown above the product price and may vary depending on the warehouse.
