Product Description
Sprocket 12B-3 z=15 for Taper-Lock bush 1615 is designed for 12B-3 roller chain (European standard DIN 8187 / ISO 606), triple-strand (triplex), with a pitch of 19.05 mm (3/4"). It has 15 teeth and is made of C45 steel.
The sprocket has a seat for a Taper-Lock 1615 clamping bush, so it can be mounted on the shaft without boring the hole or cutting a keyway in the sprocket - simply choose a 1615 bush with a bore that matches the shaft. The total width of the sprocket is 49.8 mm. The bush is not included - the 1615 bush can be purchased separately from our range.

Applications
It works in chain transmissions of industrial machinery where easy sprocket replacement is important. The triple-strand version is chosen for very heavily loaded drives where there is no room for a chain with a larger pitch.
Frequently asked questions
Which chain does this sprocket fit?
12B-3 roller chain to European standard DIN 8187 / ISO 606, with a pitch of 19.05 mm. A triplex sprocket requires a triple-strand (triplex) chain.
Does it fit ASA 60 chain?
No. ASA 60 chain (American standard) has the same pitch, but a different roller diameter (11.91 mm instead of 12.07 mm) and a different inner width (12.7 mm instead of 11.68 mm). The 12B sprocket is designed for European-standard chain, so the two systems should not be mixed.
How can run-out be avoided after mounting the bush?
Cleanliness of the shaft, the bush and the sprocket seat is crucial. Even a small chip between the bush taper and the sprocket causes run-out, which accelerates wear of the chain and bearings.
Does the bush connection need to be checked during operation?
Yes. After the first period of operation, and later during inspections, it is worth checking that the bush screws are tight. In drives operating at higher temperatures, a check after the first warm-up is especially important.
Can a Taper-Lock bush be reused?
Yes, if it has not been mechanically damaged. Easy dismounting and remounting is one of the main advantages of this system.
What does the lead time depend on?
When ordering, please check the current stock level of this sprocket - the lead time depends on it and is clearly stated according to the quantity available in each warehouse. The stock level is shown above the product price and may vary depending on the warehouse.
