FAQ

Is this inox sprocket suitable for the food industry?

Yes, this toothed wheel is made of stainless steel (inox), resistant to water and aggressive cleaning agents, which is a hygiene requirement in the food and chemical industries.

When are duplex sprockets used?

They are used to drive duplex chains in machines with heavy loads where there is no space for wide sprockets with a large pitch. Two rows distribute the load evenly and reduce the risk of the chain breaking.

What is a pilot bore in a sprocket, and why is it left?

Sprockets with a hub have a small pilot (pre-drilled) bore. It is left on purpose so that any customer or workshop can bore it out precisely to the exact shaft size of their machine.

How to cut a keyway in the sprocket hub?

Keyways are cut precisely on slotting machines to DIN 6885. If you do it yourself, keep the alignment and the correct width and depth of the keyway so that the key sits firmly and is not sheared off.
