Product Description

Sprocket 12B-1 z=51, with hub

The sprocket 12B-1 shown is a simplex sprocket with 51 teeth, made with a hub, for chain with a pitch of 3/4" / 19.05 mm. Manufactured in accordance with DIN 8187 / ISO 606 from C45E structural steel (EN 10083-1), without tooth hardening - as a Polish manufacturer, Ozdowski supplies an economical version that is fully dimensionally interchangeable with the hardened variant of the same pitch.

Frequently asked questions

How does material quality prevent the teeth from "shearing" during sudden machine jerks?

Soft, uncertified sheet metal deforms under a sudden jerk - the teeth bend over. Steel from a certified melt, correctly heat-treated, has a high yield strength and withstands a torque surge without permanent deformation.

How do you calculate the pitch circle diameter of a sprocket?

The pitch circle diameter (Dp) is, in simplified terms, the line along which the chain rollers roll. It is calculated using the formula: pitch divided by sine (180° / number of teeth).

What does the pitch of a sprocket mean and how can it be checked?

The pitch of a sprocket corresponds to the chain pitch - it is the theoretical distance between the centres of adjacent teeth on the pitch circle. The easiest way to check it is to place a section of matching chain on the sprocket - it should sit perfectly, without tension.

What is the set screw hole in the hub for?

The threaded hole in the hub is used to screw in a headless screw (a so-called grub screw). It secures the sprocket against axial displacement along the shaft during machine vibration.

Where is this product used?

Typical applications of the 12B-1 sprocket: drives for pumps, mixers and industrial fans, as well as control systems for industrial gates and roller shutters, where resistance to continuous operation is required.

When placing your order, please check the current stock level of this gear - the lead time depends on it and is clearly stated according to the quantity available in the given warehouse.
