Product Description
Sprocket 12B-1 z=27 for Taper-Lock bush 2517 hardened fits 12B-1 roller chain (European standard DIN 8187 / ISO 606), single-strand (simplex), with a pitch of 19.05 mm (3/4"). It has 27 teeth and is made of C45 steel. The teeth are induction hardened, which increases their abrasion resistance.
The sprocket has a seat for a Taper-Lock 2517 clamping bush, so it can be mounted on the shaft without boring the hole or cutting a keyway in the sprocket - simply choose a 2517 bush with a bore that matches the shaft. The hub diameter is 108 mm and the total width of the sprocket is 45 mm. The bush is not included - the 2517 bush can be purchased separately from our range.

Frequently asked questions
Which chain does this sprocket fit?
12B-1 roller chain to European standard DIN 8187 / ISO 606, with a pitch of 19.05 mm. A simplex sprocket requires a single-strand (simplex) chain.
Does it fit ASA 60 chain?
No. ASA 60 chain (American standard) has the same pitch, but a different roller diameter (11.91 mm instead of 12.07 mm) and a different inner width (12.7 mm instead of 11.68 mm). The 12B sprocket is designed for European-standard chain, so the two systems should not be mixed.
Is this sprocket available in another version?
Yes. Also available: Sprocket 12B-1 z=27 for Taper-Lock bush 2517.
Can a new chain be fitted on a worn sprocket?
This should not be done. A worn sprocket has a changed tooth profile, so a new chain runs unevenly and elongates quickly. The rule is: new chain - new sprockets.
What is induction hardening of teeth?
Induction hardening affects only the surface layer of the teeth, i.e. the areas loaded by the chain rollers. This makes the teeth resistant to abrasion, while the sprocket core retains its impact strength.
What does the lead time depend on?
When ordering, please check the current stock level of this sprocket - the lead time depends on it and is clearly stated according to the quantity available in each warehouse. The stock level is shown above the product price and may vary depending on the warehouse.
