Product Description
Sprocket 12B-1 z=26, hardened hub
The sprocket 12B-1 shown is a simplex sprocket with 26 teeth, made with a hardened hub, for chain with a pitch of 3/4" / 19.05 mm. As a European manufacturer, Ozdowski supplies the sprocket in C45E steel (EN 10083-1), in accordance with DIN 8187 / ISO 606 - the teeth are induction hardened (45-55 HRC), while the hub remains soft and easy to machine.

Frequently asked questions
How do you cut a keyway in the hub of a sprocket?
We cut keyways precisely on slotting machines according to DIN 6885. If you do it yourself, maintain axial alignment and the correct width and depth of the keyway so that the key sits securely and is not sheared off.
How do I select a sprocket with bearing for a tensioning system?
An idler sprocket (with built-in bearing) is selected according to the pitch of the working chain and mounted on the slack side (not on the tight side). It is important that the bearing is protected against dust, especially in agricultural machinery.
How do you calculate the pitch circle diameter of a sprocket?
The pitch circle diameter (Dp) is, in simplified terms, the line along which the chain rollers roll. It is calculated using the formula: pitch divided by sine (180° / number of teeth).
How do you correctly align sprockets during installation?
The driving and driven sprockets must be in one perfect line. You can use a long steel straightedge placed against the faces of both sprockets or a professional laser alignment tool. Even a slight angular deviation will quickly destroy the chain.
Where is this product used?
Applications include drives in the food industry, packaging machines, sorting lines and agricultural harvesting machines, where the sprocket operates seasonally but under full load.
