Product Description
Sprocket 10B-3 z=37, with hub
Sprocket 10B-3 (pitch 5/8" - 15.88 mm), triplex (three-strand), 37 teeth, with hub. Manufactured in accordance with DIN 8187 / ISO 606 from C45E structural steel (EN 10083-1), without tooth hardening - as a Polish manufacturer, Ozdowski supplies an economical version that is fully dimensionally interchangeable with the hardened variant of the same pitch.

Frequently asked questions
Can the hub of a sprocket have a different hardness from the toothed rim?
Yes, and in practice this is usually the case - in the version with induction-hardened teeth, only the toothed rim is hardened, while the hub remains soft so that it can be freely turned and a keyway can be cut in it. This solution combines tooth wear resistance with ease of machining the hub.
How does rotational speed affect the selection of the minimum number of teeth of a sprocket in the system?
At higher rotational speeds, a larger minimum number of teeth on the smallest sprocket in the system is recommended to reduce chain vibration and impacts resulting from the so-called polygon effect. With very small sprockets (e.g. 9-11 teeth) and high speeds, wear and vibration levels increase significantly faster than with larger sprockets.
When is it worth considering a sprocket made of reinforced steel for heavy-duty operating conditions?
In heavy dust, with powerful jerks (e.g. in presses) and wherever a breakdown in the middle of the season is not an option, sprockets made of higher-strength quenching and tempering steel or a variant with hardened teeth are often a good solution - it is worth consulting the supplier in the case of unusual operating conditions.
What happens when a sprocket operates under a greater load than intended?
Overloading first accelerates normal tooth wear, and with sudden overloads (e.g. machine blockage) the teeth may become permanently bent or sheared. In such cases, using an overload clutch in the system is often a better solution than choosing an oversized sprocket "just in case".
Where is this product used?
10B-3 sprockets are used in industrial drive transmissions: conveyors, feeders, packaging machines and production lines where precise, repeatable torque transmission matters.
